Founder: Sanhita Chatterjee
Sanhita Chatterjee is the founder and President of Musik Matters, and was inspired by her first piano recital hosted at a senior home. She believes that music is one of the best tools to be utilized for connection, therapy, and healing, which is why she started this organization. Sanhita has played piano since the age of six and volunteered since the start of high-school. She is currently a senior at Lambert Highschool.

Therapy
how can we use music?
From our research, music therapy can improve physical movement, provide emotional outlets, and be a center for rehabilitation for many patients. We at Musik Matters believe that we can extend the benefits of music to people of all ages, by performing at multiple places and learning from healthcare professionals. Music in itself can be a therapeutic activity, which can be done both at home and in a clinic. When paired with other aspects of healthcare, music therapy can be a truly beautiful thing. At home, there are multiple apps available that can be downloaded, in addition to playing simple musical instruments and sing-alongs. Music is a universal tool that can be accessed from anywhere.
